Federal Technical College, Hadejia, has held its first Speech and Prize Giving Day, during which 157 students graduated as the pioneer set. The college also unveiled the maiden edition of its magazine, Innovator.The Principal of the College, Malam Suleiman Abdulganiyu, commended key individuals who supported the establishment and growth of the institution. He noted that Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia played a major role in the running of the college, and his contributions have led to rapid development of the school. The Principal also acknowledged 157 graduands from the first batch and praised the community-based group, Hadejia Inamafita, for its guidance and support toward the progress of the college.In a paper presentation titled “The Importance of Technical Education to Our Youth” Prof. Ngummi Jimim of the Department of Science Education, Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, said technical education is more than acquiring a trade. According to him, it is a pathway to personal development.The Emir of Machina, Dr. Bashir Bukar, urged the college management and students to develop practical skills that will give them technical experience and prepare them for future opportunities.Representing the Emir of Hadejia, Dr. Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje Haruna, the Turakin Hadejia, Alhaji Dauda Yusuf, called on parents to prioritize their children’s education to secure a brighter future.The Chief Launcher of the maiden magazine, _Innovator_, Distinguished Senator Ahmed Abdulhamid, who was represented by Jakadan Hadejia, Barde Usman Aji, bought 2 copies for N500,000. The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Umar Namadi on Student Affairs, Muhammad Salisu Seker, and Salisu Atafi also bought copies for N500,000 each.Earlier, the Vice Principal, Alhaji Ado Lawal Rogo, gave a brief history of the college. Outstanding teachers and students were also presented with awards during the event.

Also in attendance and delivering goodwill messages was a representative of the Federal Ministry of Education, among other dignitaries.
