Geregu Power Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to meeting all bond obligations in full, as it pledged continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in the power sector.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Company said its Chairman, Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, Marafan Sokoto, gave firm assurances to bondholders, trustees, and stakeholders that all financial commitments would be honored. The Board, it added, remains dedicated to preserving shareholder value and upholding high standards of corporate governance.

Senator Yari said the Board is fully aligned with the federal government’s agenda to transform Nigeria’s power sector. “As a stakeholder and a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I deem it incumbent on us all to do everything humanly possible for the Renewed Hope Agenda to succeed. I commend Mr. President for the support that has been given to the power sector,” he stated.

The Chairman also disclosed that the Company is engaging the former management and Board of Geregu Power Plc over outstanding legacy issues. He assured stakeholders that the matters would be resolved and that necessary steps are being taken to safeguard the interests of both shareholders and bondholders.

“We want to assure all stakeholders that this obligation will be resolved, and we are taking all necessary steps to protect the interests of our shareholders and bondholders,” Senator Yari further noted.

Geregu Power Plc, one of Nigeria’s leading power generation companies, said the Board and Management remain committed to sustaining and improving power generation to support national growth and industrialization. The statement was signed by Engineer MD Aliyu Mini.
