The Zakat Committee of the Hadejia Emirate has distributed farm produce worth over Naira 7.7 million, as well as cash exceeding 13 million naira, in the Waje District of Malam Madori Local Government Area.
The Secretary of the Zakat Committee, Engineer Ismail Garba Barde, announced this to the Information Officer ,of Malam Madori Local Government Area , Musa Muhammad Hadejia shortly after the distribution.
He further stated, that the committee collected 126 bags of rice, 13 bags of guinea corn, 120 bags of millet, Muds and Bundles, total value of which amounted to Naira 7,775,00.
Engineer Ismail said, cash totalling approximately Naira 13,300,000 was also realized, bringing the combined total to Naira 21,055,000.
He said, the items/cash was distributed to the needy who are native of the soil accordingly.
The Chairman of the Zakat Committee , Hadejia Emirate, Talban Hadejia, Barrister Abdulfatah Abdulwahab, who was represented by the Chief Imam of the Emirate, Sheikh Yusuf Abrulrahman Ya’u, stated that the Zakat distribution was launched at Babbar Ruga.
The Islamic Scholar, Dr. Umar Nasarawa, urged the wealthy to continue paying Zakat to purify their wealth.
The District Head of Waje Katukan Hadejia, Alhaji Ilyasu Ibrahim, thanked the Zakat committee for their dedication in carrying out the distribution across the districts of the Emirate from where the Zakat was collected.
