The All Progressives Congress APC in nasarawa state has denied a plan to substitute candidates who emerged winnees of the recent party primaries in the state.The State APC Chairman, Dr Aliyu Bello, disclosed this while distributing the INEC forms EC9 and EC13E to the 24 candidates of the state house assembly held at the party secretariat in lafia.
He said, there was no any plan to substitute candidate, noting that no successful candidate was changed in nasarawa state.
“We have no any plan to change candidate who emerged victorious. If anybody told you that he has been changed, let him bring evidence. It’s just speculation,’ Dr. Aliyu Bello said……..””You can’t substitute anybody because we gave them the form to fill based on the name submitted from the APC national secretariat, and their names will be uploaded based on that,” he said.
“Speaking on the forms, the APC chairman explained that, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC had delivered forms EC9 and EC13E to the APC national headquarters for onward distribution to successful candidates. He said that it was a routine exercise on the directive of INEC in line with the election timetable.
“Today, INEC gave our national headquarters form EC9 and EC13E for the 24 state house of assembly candidates who were elected during the just-concluded party primaries.
“Ours is just to distribute them to candidates based on the names submitted from the national secretariat,’ the chairman stated.
“On the party’s chances in the upcoming elections, Dr. Aliyu Bello expressed confidence, citing APC’s track record in the off-cycle and by-elections conducted nationwide recently.“By the grace of God, we are going out to work; we will work. All the elections, the off-cycle elections, the by-elections all over the country, it is APC that emerged victorious.,’ he said…”
Dr. Aliyu Bello explained that, the party is working toward setting up a reconciliation committee to reconcile aggrieved members and appealed to them to remain calm and work for the victory of the party.
