According to Jigawa State Police public relations officer SP Shi’isu lawan Adam, the Jigawa State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of the comprehensive security arrangements put in place to ensure a peaceful, safe, and hitch-free Easter celebration across the State.
Shi’isu further said; In line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, and under the proactive leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Haruna Alaba Yahaya, psc, mnips, the Command has deployed adequate personnel and operational assets to strategic locations across the State. These include churches, recreational centers, highways, motor parks, markets, and other public places where large gatherings are expected during the festive period.
PPRO emphasized that, The Command has intensified patrols, visibility policing, stop-and-search operations, and intelligence-driven raids to deter criminal elements and maintain law and order before, during, and after the celebration. Special attention has been given to flashpoints and vulnerable areas to forestall any breach of peace.
Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Team have been directed to remain on high alert and ensure effective supervision of personnel deployed within their respective Areas of Responsibility. Additionally, personnel from specialized units such as the Anti-Bomb Squad (EOD), rapid response teams, and Traffic Departments have been strategically positioned to respond promptly to emergencies and manage traffic flow.
The Commissioner of Police reassures residents of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property and urges members of the public to remain vigilant, be law-abiding, and cooperate with security agencies. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious movement or activities to the nearest police station.
Parents and guardians are also advised to monitor their wards and discourage them from engaging in any unlawful activities that could disrupt public peace.
