The Kano State Government has assured residents of Kano South Senatorial District of continued execution of development projects across the region.
The Deputy Governor, Murtala Sule Garo, gave the assurance while receiving members of the Voice of Kano South Forum in his office.
The Deputy Governor said the administration would continue to listen to the concerns, demands and constructive advice of citizens across the state’s three senatorial districts.
He emphasised the importance of peace, unity and harmonious coexistence among communities, noting that collective efforts were essential to achieving sustainable economic development.
Garo commended the forum for promoting unity and recognising the administration’s development interventions in Kano South.
He also acknowledged the contributions of prominent indigenes of the district, including Senator Suleman Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa and Abdullahi Sani Rogo, to the development of the region and the state.
The Deputy Governor appreciated traditional and religious leaders as well as members of the business community for their continued support for the administration.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Sabi’u Abdullahi , explained that the forum, which comprises representatives from the 16 local government areas of Kano South, visited to appreciate the state government for its development projects in the region.
He highlighted the construction of the Dan-Soshiya Dam in Kiru LGA, establishment of Gaya Polytechnic and the relocation of Rano Polytechnic to Sumaila LGA as some of the projects.
Sabi’u also commended the proposed conversion of Rano General Hospital into a Federal Medical Centre and other interventions by the state government.
The forum, however, appealed to the government to rehabilitate a major road linking several local government areas in the senatorial district.
The delegation pledged its continued support for the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf across the 16 local government areas of Kano South.
