A Non-governmental Organization, See Well and Care Consult in collaboration with an international group VisionSpring, commences a one week community step-in, in Gano town, Dawakin-Kudu local goverbment area of Kano state, with the hope to promote healthy vision and make quality eye care to be more accessible to drivers, road users, vulnerable ones and other people with poor eye vision, and also eye vision screening and care education.
The team was led by Dr Mubarak Usman Mohammed, who was also the public relation officer of the group.
Dr Mubarak underscored the activities of the group since its inception way back 2023, where he said, hope was restored to thousands of people with vision problem, by diagonistic and treatment and also issued with free eye glasses worth millions of Naira.
“Every interaction reminds us that, a good vision is essential for better lives and we’re committed to reached to more communities in helping people to See Well and Do Well” so added.
The program is said to be targeted 1,500 people during the one week period, as at start-up, almost 200 people benefitted from the gesture.
Many beneficiaries, expressed their gratitudes to the group for such noble cause at this trying times, and also made an appeal for a possible extension of time for those who were not aware of the program, despite wide publicity was made in the community, so that they can benefit from the ongoing exercise.
Recalled that, similar exercise was conducted in the area sometimes in 2025, where more than 1,000 people mostly in their prime ages received free eye glasses.
