The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Bauchi State Chapter, has commended Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for what it described as bold reforms in the state’s sports sector, particularly the appointment of a new Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development.
In a statement issued in Bauchi, the association congratulated the newly sworn-in Commissioner, Hon. Bashir Ya’u, describing his appointment as “well-deserved” and a step in the right direction for sports development in the state.
SWAN said it was confident that the commissioner’s wealth of experience and commitment would usher in a new era for sports administration in Bauchi.
The association pledged its support to the new commissioner, assuring him of partnership in advancing sports development through responsible and professional sports journalism.
While wishing Hon. Ya’u a successful and impactful tenure, SWAN urged him to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to reposition the sector and expand opportunities for youth development across the state.
The statement was jointly signed by the Chairman of SWAN Bauchi State Chapter, Bala Bawaji, and the Secretary, Elizabeth Kah.
