Police in Jigawa State have recovered a locally made revolver pistol and a motorcycle after foiling an attack on a motorcyclist along New Gwaram to Kila Road.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, operatives attached to Gwaram Division responded to a distress report at about 12:30am on 16th July 2026.
They found Abdullahi Garba, 22, of Falai Village, unconscious and bleeding on the road. Preliminary investigation revealed that two passengers had attacked him with a hammer in an attempt to steal his motorcycle.
SP Adam said the suspects fled the scene but abandoned the motorcycle and a revolver pistol loaded with 4 live rounds and 2 expended shells after police gave them a hot chase.
The victim was immediately evacuated to hospital where he is currently responding to treatment, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
The Command urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to security agencies.
