The Chairman of Buji Local Government Council, Arch. Najibullahi Falalu Tukur, has said his administration is fully committed to addressing the problem of erosion affecting residents of the area.
He stated this during a ceremony for the disbursement of compensation funds for lands acquired in Gwadayi and other areas.
The Secretary of the Local Government, Sect. Auwalu Baffa, in his welcome address, urged beneficiaries of the compensation to collect their money and ensure it is used appropriately. He also expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to making the initiative a reality.
The Director of Finance and Administration of Buji LGA, Alh. Muhammad Sarki, commended the council chairman for the payment of compensation for lands purchased in Gwadayi and other areas.
The District Head of Yayari, District Head of Gwadayi, and other community leaders attended the event. They expressed their satisfaction and commended this important step taken by the local government administration.
In his address, the Chairman of Buji LGA, Arch. Najibullahi Falalu Tukur said: “Today is a day we are demonstrating the work and vision of this government.
We understand that there is a need to assist those affected by erosion in their communities.”He recalled his visit to the area for an on-the-spot assessment, where he promised to support the people.
“That promise has been fulfilled today,” he said.
The Chairman also expressed appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Malam Umar Namadi, for his support that has strengthened their capacity to assist their people.
He added: “We have secured land and we will give every resident of this area a free plot in the new Gwadayi town that we have identified. We will also buy their lands and pay them their money today.
”He revealed that part of the land will be used to construct a water reservoir for dry-season farming.
In conclusion, Arch. Najibullahi thanked parents and religious leaders for the valuable advice they give to the local government, pledging to use their counsel in continuing to implement people-oriented projects.
