The Kebbi State Police Command says, the abducted High Court judge, Justice Faruk Hassan Bunza, who was abducted from his residence in Bunza Local Government Area last week was released earlier today.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer SP Bashir Usman confirm the development to the journalists in a statement issued in. Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
SP Bashir said his release has been confirmed by his family and the State Ministry of Justice. Although the kidnappers made a ransom demand, the Command maintains its firm stance against ransom payments.
He said with the Judge now released, Police and other security agencies have intensified investigative efforts to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice, and urges members of the public to provide useful information that could assist in this regard as all information provided will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
The Command appreciates the support and cooperation of the public and other security agencies throughout this period, and reassures residents of its unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property across the State.
