African Democratic Congress stalwart, Colonel Babandi Abdullahi Mago Rtd, has intensified grassroots consultations across Maigatari Local Government Area as part of efforts to consolidate support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Mago, who is also the House of Representatives aspirant for Gumel, Maigatari, Gagarawa and Sule Tankarkar Federal Constituency, led the outreach tour alongside party leaders and loyal supporters. The visit focused on direct engagement with members at the ward and community levels.
During the tour, the ADC chieftain visited Galadi, Dankumbo, Fulata, Madana, Kuka Yasku, Jajeri and Turbus. In each community, he held interactive sessions with party faithful, elders and youth leaders to assess the political mood and strengthen party structures.
Addressing stakeholders, Colonel Mago stressed the importance of unity and discipline within the party. He said internal cohesion would determine ADC’s strength and competitiveness in 2027, especially as the party positions itself as an alternative platform for Jigawa voters.
The retired colonel reaffirmed his commitment as a committed ally of the party’s governorship flag bearer, Senator Sabo Muhammad Nakudu CON. He described Nakudu as a tested leader with the experience and vision needed to move Jigawa forward.
“We are expanding grassroots support for the Nakudu project across every community,” Mago stated. He added that strengthening the party from the polling unit level upward remains the surest path to electoral victory.
Mago commended ADC members statewide for the confidence they placed in Senator Nakudu during the party primaries. He noted that Nakudu’s emergence as governorship candidate was a clear signal of members’ desire for inclusive politics and grassroots development.
The House of Reps aspirant urged members to remain steadfast and avoid internal divisions. According to him, loyalty to the party and collective resolve are non-negotiable if ADC must displace entrenched political structures in 2027.
He told community leaders that sustained mobilization, strategic engagement and voter education would form the bedrock of ADC’s campaign strategy. Mago said the party would focus on issue-based politics that addresses the needs of ordinary citizens.
Party supporters who spoke during the engagements pledged their commitment to work for ADC’s success. Many expressed optimism that the combination of Nakudu’s profile and Mago’s grassroots structure would yield results in the next election cycle.
The outreach tour ended with calls for continued dialogue and feedback from the grassroots. Colonel Mago assured stakeholders that the party leadership would remain accessible and responsive as preparations for 2027 gather momentum.
