The All Progressives Congress, APC, says burning of brooms by some aggrieved members of the party will never affect the chances of the party and the grassroots support ahead of the 2027 general elections in nasarawa state.

The state party chairman of the APC Dr. Aliyu Bello disclosed this in his reaction following the recent rally and burning of brooms in gayam electoral ward in lafia, and other parts of the state by aggrieved supporters of the former inspector general of police IGP Abubakar Adamu.

Speaking at the sweeping and washing ceremony, Dr. Aliyu Bello said, the act was a mere political drama that cannot erase the party’s track record and sssuring that brooms were being used every day in sweeping the houses of those involved in burning brooms in the area, so who are they deceiving.

The state APC chairman cautioned people in the area against divisive politics and sentiments being promoted by some politicians simply because they did not win the primary last month election.

Dr. Aliyu Bello challenged those burning brooms to present their scorecards of what they did to the people in the area and the state when they had the opportunity in the past.

In a remark, The Deputy Chairman of lafia local government area, Uba Arikya, said, even a blind man knows that the state has changed under Governor Abdullahi Sule.

He explained that politics is about good governance and benefits that have a direct bearing on the lives of the people not only by organising rallies and insulting people as well as inciting the public for selfish reasons.

On his part, An APC Chieftain in the area, Malam Sidi Ndagi, called on the people to vote for all candidates of the party from the president to the least position in the 2027 general election in the state.

He therefore commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for his developmental strides and urged him to be focused on delivering more infrastructure and not to be distracted by unscrupulus politicians who do not mean well for the state.

The former IGP lost the recent governorship primaries of the APC to Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, the preferred candidate of Governor Abdullahi Sule.

The rally which featured sweeping and washing of streets in the area, had in attendance thousands of APC supporters from gayam electoral ward carrying party banners, posters, and brooms.
