The people of Bari community, located between Kakangi and Shika Districts in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have cried out over their poor living conditions due to lack of access roads, schools, and a health clinic.
Our correspondent visited the village and observed the deplorable state of the road linking Tsibiri to Bari, which passes through more than ten communities. As of today, vehicles cannot ply the road, and even motorcycles struggle to pass because of its terrible condition.
Alhaji Basiru Musa the Village Head of Bari, described the hardship they have endured for many years.The Village Head said they have reported their plight to the Local Government, the Councilor, and State House of Assembly members, but nothing has been done.
Bari community comprises several wards with a population of over one million people, including many youths and children.However, young children are not able to attend school because two classrooms were blown off by rain and have not been repaired.
The residents are predominantly farmers who need to transport their agricultural produce to the market, but due to no roadsand access a hospital, school, or market, they have to go back to Giwa town and then travel to Shika and Zaria.
