The Jigawa State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Technology Incubation Centre, TIC, Dutse in advancing technology commercialization, entrepreneurship development, and job creation across the state.
The assurance was given by the State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, while receiving the Centre Manager and his management team on a courtesy visit in his office.
Describing TIC Dutse as a “household name” in Jigawa, the Head of Service commended the Centre for its role in nurturing innovation and supporting entrepreneurs. “The Technology Incubation Centre is a recognized and valued institution in Jigawa State. We are aware of the commendable work being done by the Centre in nurturing innovation and supporting entrepreneurs,” he said.
Earlier, the Centre Manager, Engineer Shukuranu Uzairu, said the visit was part of strategic stakeholder engagements aimed at strengthening partnerships and exploring new areas of collaboration since he assumed office.
Engineer Uzairu highlighted the history of the Technology Incubation Programme and the impact of TIC Jigawa in fostering innovation-driven enterprises. He noted that government support for incubation centres nationwide has led to the establishment of thousands of SMEs and created numerous direct and indirect jobs.
He appealed to the state government for increased support in infrastructure development, provision of industrial parks for graduates and emerging entrepreneurs, and other collaborative initiatives to boost the Centre’s capacity.
The visit aligns with the state government’s drive to leverage technology and entrepreneurship as tools for economic growth and youth employment in Jigawa.
