In an effort to improve hygiene standards across every part of the Kaugama and Malam Madori Local Government Areas, the monthly environmental sanitation exercise has been conducted to promote a healthy atmosphere in the area.The sanitation exercise was carried out in sensitive areas, including primary healthcare facilities, markets, streets, culverts, the abattoir, the local government secretariats, and other sensitive locations.The effort is to clear waste from filthy areas to ensure good hygiene throughout the holy month of Ramadan Kareem.In his remarks, the Head of the Water and Sanitation Department in Malam Madori, Shehu Ahmed, urged butchers, tea and fish sellers, vegetable vendors, and others to ensure their immediate environments remain clean. He further pledged to provide them with the necessary working tools to help maintain cleanliness and eliminate anything that could be harmful to their businesses.Similarly, the Special Adviser on Water and Sanitation to the Kaugama Local Government Chairman, Muhammad Garba, stated that efforts to clear waste had been intensified in many sensitive areas within Kaugama. He noted that the exercise was carried out in Kaugama town and the Dakaiyyawa community, commending the large turnout of community members who participated in the sanitation drive.The State Supervisor from the Ministry of Environment, assigned to oversee the exercise in Malam Madori, Amiru Lurwan Yahaya, expressed appreciation for the sanitation efforts across the area. He further urged the local government council to provide working materials for self-help groups and community members to encourage their continued active participation in future exercises.In his speech, the council chairman Honourable Usman masaki Dansule of kaugama local Government has pledged to complement the effort of the 12-point agenda of Governor Umar Namadi administration’s to record huge success on the ground.
