The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Jigawa State, Senator Sabo Muhammed NaKudu, has disowned an alleged power-sharing agreement purportedly reached between him and former governorship aspirant, Hon. Bashir Adamu Jumbo.
NaKudu, in a disclaimer dated August 8, 2026, said he neither negotiated, signed, authorised nor ratified the document, reportedly dated July 3, 2026.
He specifically rejected the alleged 60:40 power-sharing formula, including purported arrangements on the Deputy Governorship, elective positions and federal and state appointments.
“I did not negotiate, execute, approve, authorize, consent to, adopt or ratify the said agreement,” he said.
Na Kudu also disowned the signature purportedly appearing against his name, insisting that he neither signed the document nor authorised anyone to sign on his behalf.
He called for the disputed signature and the provenance of the document to undergo forensic examination, saying it should not be regarded as evidence of his consent.
The ADC candidate further denied authorising any representation that the alleged agreement was executed in the presence of Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Kashim Ibrahim-Imam and former Senate President, Senator David B. Mark.
He said the purported appearance of their names or signatures could not establish his participation or consent.
Na Kudu urged political actors, institutions and media organisations to refrain from treating or circulating the document as a duly authorised agreement.
He also threatened legal action against anyone found responsible for allegedly fabricating, altering, falsely attributing, unlawfully using or circulating the document or his purported signature.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I am not a party to the purported agreement and shall not be bound by any of its provisions,” he said.
