By Alhaji Musa Muhammad Hadejia.

Following the resignation of the former Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs, Honourable Abdulqadeer Umar Bala, addressed to Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, the stage is set for his declared interest in the 2027 general election.

Honourable Bala Umar is widely regarded as a kind-hearted leader who transformed Hadejia Local Government from darkness to light through developmental projects that continue to benefit the people.

His tenure as Chairman of Hadejia Local Government Council left a lasting impact, marked by developmental strides that stand in stark contrast to the current situation.

During his time in office, the environment was consistently clean, with modern equipment used to clean all major roads on a weekly basis.

Furthermore, Honourable Bala Umar made significant improvements in the security, education, health, and agricultural sectors, while also empowering youths to become self-reliant.

Any sensible resident of Hadejia can attest that the development achieved under Bala Umar’s leadership cannot be compared to that of his successor, who has failed—and continues to fail—to provide the dividends of democracy that the people expected when they cast their votes.

His resignation from the position of Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs to pursue a seat in the State House of Assembly is a welcome development for the people of Hadejia, given his proven track record.

It is unclear whether Abdulqadeer Umar Bala’s successor failed to embrace the vision and direction needed to effectively steer the affairs of the local government.

I wish him success in all his endeavors as he seeks to contest and win, with the hope that he will adopt the 12-point agenda of Governor Umar Namadi and implement it effectively at the grassroots level.
