A Non Governmental Organisation, the Sani Bello Foundation has provided scholarship support to over four hundred students that were enrolled in various tertiary institutions across the country. 

Speaking during the 2025/2026 Scholarship and Academic Support Programme through its Scholarship and Academic Support Desk, held in Kontagora Local Government Area of Niger state, Director General of the Foundation, Dr Zakari Ikani reaffirming its unwavering commitment to expanding access to quality education and empowering young people to achieve their academic aspirations.

Dr Zakari Ikani explained that as part of its long standing educational intervention, beneficiaries were drawn from wide range of institutions, including Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, the Federal University of Technology Minna, Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai, Federal University of Education Kontagora, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, various Nursing Programmes, and several other tertiary institutions across the country.

Dr Zakari Ikani maintained that education will continue to remain one of the most powerful tool of the Foundation for personal transformation, community development, and national progress, stressing that the scholarship and academic support initiative is aimed at reducing financial barriers to children of the poor, encouraging academic excellence, and providing deserving students with the opportunity to pursue their educational goals with relative ease.

 According to him since its establishment, the Sani Bello Foundation has consistently invested in educational development through scholarships, academic support programmes, school infrastructure projects, learning resources, and other interventions designed to improve educational outcomes and create opportunities for young people. 

These efforts he said, reflect the Foundation’s broader vision of building a society where every individual has access to the resources and opportunities necessary to reach their full potentials.

The Foundation remain committed to supporting students in their pursuit of knowledge and helping them develop into responsible leaders, skilled professionals, and active contributors to society through sustained investments in education.

The Foundation continues to inspire hope, nurture talent, and create pathways to a brighter future for countless young Nigerians.

Dr Zakari Ikani said the Sani Bello Foundation that was founded by Colonel Sani Bello retired is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving lives through strategic interventions in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, community development, and social welfare.

Since its establishment in 2010, the Foundation has remained steadfast in its mission of empowering individuals, transforming communities, and creating sustainable opportunities for development across Nigeria.
