In an effort to improve social amenities across Malam Madori Local Government Area, the council chairman, Salisu Sani Garungabas, has procured a set of handpumps in Gandun sarki and warwaru community to reduce water scarcity in several communities.
The drilling of new boreholes will increase water availability for human use and also serve as watering points for animals, particularly in Warwaru community.
Furthermore, the local government council is purchasing handpump materials worth millions of Naira to repair broken handpumps. The items purchased include pipes, cylinders, nuts, bolts, rods, and other necessary components for fixing grounded pumps.
The commitee for repairment the broken handpumps is under the leadership and supervision of the councillors representing each area.The Eleven (11) wards in the area will benefit the repairment for them to enjoy dividends of democracy at grassroots level.
Earlier, the council chairman pledged to overhaul all broken handpumps across the area to ensure residents have access to adequate and portable drinking water.
