The Kebbi State Police Command says one Sufyanu Garba of Badariya quarters in Birnin Kebbi local government area of Kebbi state was killed and his was abducted in the early hours of today Friday, 13/03/2026The Command’s Public Relations Officer SP Bashir Usman disclosed this to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
He said the command expressed concern over an unfortunate incident that occurred in the early hours of today, 13th March 2026, in Badariya Area, Birnin Kebbi, which resulted in the death of Sufiyanu Garba, aged 35, and the abduction of his wife.According to thim, the detectives promptly visited the scene and commenced necessary investigations and it was observed that a police checkpoint is situated not far away from the scene of the incident, which could have been informed for rapid response.
The victim was taken to Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor and his remains have since been deposited at the hospital morgue.
It added that, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the case and ensure a thorough and diligent investigation aimed at rescuing the abducted victim and bringing those responsible to justice.
The Command also reassures residents that necessary steps are being taken to further strengthen the security architecture across the State and urged members of the public to always report promptly to the police any emergency situation for rapid response, as timely information is crucial to averting incidents of this nature.
