CP Tasks Personnel On Professionalism, Human Rights.
The Jigawa State Police Command has graduated 50 rank-and-file officers after a four-week conversion training into the Police Mobile Force, PMF, conducted by the 35 PMF Squadron, Dutse.
According to a statement by the Commandโs Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the training ended on Sunday, 3rd August 2026.
The Command said the programme was designed to boost the operational capacity, tactical proficiency and combat readiness of personnel, in line with the Inspector-General of Policeโs vision for a professional and disciplined Force.
During the exercise, the trainees underwent intensive theoretical and practical sessions. Areas covered included weapon handling and safety, musketry, assembling and dismantling of rifles, rescue operations, crowd control, VIP protection, combat drills, tactical movement, physical fitness and other essential PMF operations.
The training ended with a live shooting range exercise where the participants demonstrated marksmanship and skills acquired. Divisional Police Officers from Dutse Metropolitan Area, as well as senior officers from the Departments of Operations and Finance and Administration, also took part in the exercise.
The Commanding Officer of 35 PMF Squadron commended the trainees for their discipline, resilience and professionalism.
Speaking at the closing, the Commissioner of Police said continuous capacity building remains key to effective policing.
He charged the newly trained officers to deploy the knowledge and tactical skills in fighting crime, maintaining public order, protecting lives and property, and responding to emerging security threats.
The Command appreciated the instructors of 35 PMF Squadron for their professionalism and congratulated the successful trainees.
It urged them to uphold discipline, professionalism, respect for human rights and operational excellence.
The Jigawa State Police Command also reassured residents of its commitment to improving personnel capacity and sustaining effective policing strategies to guarantee safety and security across the state.
