The Jigawa State Government has opened tenders for the construction, renovation and completion of 2026 constituency projects, covering District and Village Heads’ palaces, Friday and daily prayer mosques, solar street lights, and other community infrastructure.
Declaring the bid opening in Dutse, the Chairman of the Ministerial Tender Committee and Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Administration and Finance in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abdullahi Sa’idu, said the projects are designed to spread development across the 30 state constituencies.
He explained that in addition to mosques, the projects will also include installation of solar street lights, interlocking of roads, and construction of wall fencing for graveyards among other initiatives.
Alhaji Sa’idu urged the technical committee to ensure a fair, transparent and impartial selection process, and stressed the need for timely completion of projects in line with contractual agreements.
He noted that the projects are in line with the 12-point agenda of Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi, which seeks to improve the living standards of citizens across the state.
According to him, over 40 companies are competing for the contracts, a development he said reflects confidence in the state’s procurement process and commitment to fairness.
Also speaking, the Director General of the Due Process and Project Monitoring Bureau, Professor Kasim Muhammad, assured that contractor selection would be transparent and in full compliance with the Procurement Act and Due Process laws.
Represented by Quantity Surveyor Kabiru Kiyawa, Prof. Muhammad emphasized that the procurement unit must ensure every contractor has detailed drawings with full specifications before commencing work.
On behalf of the bidders, Mallam Shu’aibu Adamu of Gida Adede Nigeria Limited expressed satisfaction with the bid opening process and commended the government for ensuring openness.The government said successful contractors will be announced after evaluation by the technical committee.
