The Committee set-up to resolve the dispute between the Gano community in Dawakin-Kudu local government area in Kano state, with the quarry firms in their area, have receive a five page petition from Gano Prosperity and Progressive Union (GPPU).
The petition contained a seven terms of concern, which includes Environmental and Social, Call for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Call for Corporate Social Responsibility.
Others are Effective Mitigation Measured, Community Benefits, Signing of MoU as well as compliance to the Mining and Solid Minerals Act.
The DPO of the area, Mr Kabiru Isah Kangiwa CSP, who observed the sitting, expressed his happiness on the maturity displayed by both parties and assured that the incident would become a matter of the past.All the barricaded routes is now accessible.
The Committee has seven days to submit ana concrete resolution for a possible implementation within the three months of adoption.
