The committee set up to investigate the circumstances leading to the unfortunate death of two sisters at the General Hospital Zuru has began sitting in Zuru local government area of state.
This was disclosed to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi the state capital, Signed by Ahmad Hussaini Aliyu, Media Aide To The Commissioner of Information and Culture, kebbi State.
The sitting which took place at the Hospital, featured appearances by key witnesses including hospital staff and parents of the deceased young girls.
Medical staff incding the Principal Medical Officer Dr Thomas Gode, the Medical Officer Dr Mohammed Fakai as well as staff nurses on duty on that day the girls were admitted up to the third day of their admission all appeared before the panel and were cross examined.
According to the statement, the parents of the girls headed by Ibrahim Abdullahi Shuni, their father and mother as well as other family members also gave evidences on what transpired within the period.
As part of its assignment, the Committee also met with staff members of the Hospital where members took turns to highlight the unpalatable consequences of communication gap between staff members.
Chairman of the Panel and Commissioner of Information Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK called on the staff to work according to the ethics of their profession.
Similarly, the Health Commissioner Ismaila Yakubu Augie also appealed for more synergy and cooperation between the various strata of the profession in order to provide first class services for the good people of the state.
The committee is due to continue its assignment as more witnesses have been lined up to make submissions.
