Kwara Govt Presents Medical Equipment To KWASU Osi Campus Clinic22/02/2026The Kwara State Government has presented hospital and medical equipment to the State University, Osi Campus,clinic as part of its continued commitment to providing quality and accessible healthcare services to all .Presenting the equipment, the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KWSPHCDA), Professor Nusirat Elelu, reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to building a healthy Kwara through sustained investment in primary health care infrastructure and human resources.She commended the state governor for his visionary leadership and deliberate efforts in ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare services across the 16 Local Government Areas of the State.Professor Elelu noted that the strategic reforms and interventions of the present administration in the health sector have begun to yield measurable results, as reflected in the State’s outstanding performance in national health indices. According to her, the State has emerged winner of the Primary Health Care Leadership Challenge consecutively for three years, ranked first in the North Central Zone in health preparedness, and recognized as one of the best states in Nigeria to have a baby owing to its significantly low maternal and child mortality rates.“These recognitions are not accidental; they are the result of intentional policies, continuous training and retraining of health workers, improved supervision, and sustained recruitment to ensure more hands are on deck in delivering quality care to our people,” she stated.She assured residents that the Agency, being saddled with the responsibility of coordinating and supervising primary health care services across the State, will continue to provide leadership in the implementation of policies, programmes, and reforms aimed at strengthening service delivery in line with national standards and global best practices.In her remarks shortly after receiving the equipment on behalf of the University, Head of the Osi Campus and the Dean of Environmental Sciences, Professor Binta Suleiman, expressed appreciation to the State Government for its swift response to the institution’s request.She described the intervention as timely and impactful, noting that the prompt approval and delivery of the medical equipment demonstrate the administration’s genuine concern for the health and wellbeing of students and staff.Professor Suleiman pledged the University’s continued support and cooperation with the State Government and KWSPHCDA, affirming the institution’s readiness to collaborate in advancing healthcare delivery within the campus and surrounding communities.The equipment presented includes hospital beds with mattresses, centrifuge machines, waiting area chairs, laboratory test tubes, sphygmomanometers, clinical uniforms, cotton wool, medical footwear, bedsheets, pillows, and other essential medical supplies.END ALI MUHAMMAD RABIU
