Said, a move to improve environmental hygiene and ensure a healthy atmosphere for residents, the Jigawa State Central Working Committee has begun evacuating drainages, culverts, and other filthy areas across the state.
The Chairman of the committee, Muhammad Aliyu Danyayi, stated that the exercise is aimed at ensuring the free flow of rainwater into designated water points, thereby preventing flooding during rainfall.
Speaking after inspecting the exercise in Kafin Hausa, Kaugama, Auyo, and Malam Madori, Danyayi commended the hard work of the central working committee members across the areas, who contributed immensely to the cleaning and evacuation of drainages, culverts, and refuse dumps.
The Flagg off of the Evacuation exercise begun on Saturday and will last for a full three days in all the 27 local Government council in the state.
He further thanked Governor Umar Namadi and the Commissioner for Local Government, Abubakar Hannun Giwa, for their consideration and support, which enabled the committee to carry out the evacuation of drainages and culverts across Jigawa State.
