The Federal University of Technology, Babura, FUTB, has reaffirmed its commitment to participate in the Danmodi Housing Scheme initiated by the Jigawa State Government.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Sabo Ibrahim Birnin Kudu, made this known on Monday during a courtesy visit to the State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, in Dutse.
Discussions at the meeting centered on the allocation of houses constructed under the scheme in Babura Local Government Area.
Professor Sabo said the university had earlier met with Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi to express interest in the scheme. He added that with the project now operational, the visit was to follow up and demonstrate the institution’s commitment.
“We previously met with His Excellency, Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi, to express our interest in the Danmodi Housing Scheme. With the scheme now operational, we felt it imperative to follow up on our initial request and demonstrate our commitment to this important initiative,” he said.
The Vice Chancellor also appreciated Governor Namadi for his continuous support to the university, noting that the partnership has contributed significantly to the growth of the institution.
He called for sustained collaboration and pledged to further strengthen ties between FUT Babura and the Jigawa State Government.
In his response, the Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, welcomed the Vice Chancellor and assured him of the state government’s readiness to work with federal agencies in the state to achieve shared goals.
He reiterated government’s commitment to providing the necessary support for the successful implementation of the Danmodi Housing Scheme and other community-focused initiatives.
The Danmodi Housing Scheme is expected to improve housing access for workers and residents, including members of the FUT Babura community and its environs.
The collaboration is seen as a major step toward addressing housing challenges and improving living conditions around the university.
