The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) has recorded another milestone in its efforts to provide responsive and people-centered healthcare services, following the successful treatment and discharge of a patient who underwent a major orthopedic surgery.

The patient, Yusuf Arafat, was identified and referred by the KSCHMA Rapid Response Team (RRT) after being diagnosed with a severe segmental femoral fracture that required urgent specialist medical attention.

According to the agency, the intervention was carried out under the directive of the Executive Secretary of KSCHMA, Dr. Rahila Muktar, who facilitated the patient’s referral to Sir Muhammad Sunusi Specialist Hospital for comprehensive orthopedic care.

At the hospital, Yusuf underwent detailed medical evaluation and a successful surgical procedure aimed at stabilizing the fracture and restoring normal function to the affected limb.

Following weeks of post-operative care, rehabilitation, and close monitoring by healthcare professionals, the patient was discharged in stable condition after showing remarkable recovery.

Speaking on the development, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar expressed satisfaction with the positive outcome and commended both the medical team and members of the Rapid Response Team for their dedication and professionalism.

She said the successful treatment and discharge of the patient demonstrate the impact of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s Kano First Agenda, which prioritizes improved access to quality healthcare services and timely medical interventions for residents of the state.

Dr. Muktar reaffirmed KSCHMA’s commitment to supporting vulnerable residents and patients requiring specialized medical care through prompt referrals, effective healthcare interventions, and continuous follow-up services.

She added that the agency would continue to monitor Yusuf Arafat’s recovery and provide the necessary support to ensure his full rehabilitation and return to normal daily activities.

The agency noted that the successful outcome further highlights the role of its Rapid Response Team in bridging healthcare gaps, improving access to specialist care, and restoring hope to patients and their families across Kano State.
