Bauchi State athletes are shining at the ongoing third National Para-Sports Games in Abuja with Ahmed Muhammad, popularly known as Uzo, won a Bronze medal in shot put.
Five other athletes received medals in various events to include Ibrahim Rabi’u who got Silver in para powerlifting, Umar Muhammad received a medal in karate, Galadima won Gold, Ta’aziyya Benjamin took Silver in shooting, and Za’ayau Musa Badas and Esther Jemas secured medals in table tennis mix doubles
The state’s teams have also shown impressive performances, with Sitting Volleyball beating by Bayelsa three Zero and Lagos getting knocked out.
Bauchi State now has a total of sixteen medals, one Gold, two Silver, and thirteen Bronze.
Speaking to newsmen, the Head of Technical, Bala Magaji Juwara, thanked Governor Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir for supporting sports development in Bauchi State and appreciated the commitment of state Commissioner for sports Alhaji Adamu Babayo Gabarin
