Nasarawa State Bureau for Rural Development says it has constructed over four hundreds kilometers of rural roads to rural communities across the state in the last seven years of the present administration.
Director General of the Bureau Engineer Mohammad Sani Sidi, disclosed this while briefing journalists in lafia, the state capital.
Engineer Sani Sidi said the bureau have also executed more than thirty major roads projects in rural areas and has fourteen ongoing projects covering over several kilometers.
He maintained that, the projects include roads, drainage systems, schools, water supply, sanitation of facilities, and constructions hospitals. in all the rural areas under bureau.
“Rural communities across the state have recorded significant development during the seven years of Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration. And the progress reflects the state government’s commitment to improving living standards at the grassroots level,’ He said…”
“He added that, the bureau is responsible for coordinating the interventions in rural infrastructure, social services, and economic empowerment to ensure the welbeing of rural communities,’ Sidi added……..”
Engr. Sani Sidi also outlined the bureau’s mandate, noting that it is tasked with planning, implementing, and monitoring of programs designed to uplift rural communities and bridge the development gap between urban and rural areas.
“Since assuming leadership of the agency one year ago, Sidi said the bureau has recorded several achievements. These include the recruitment of new staff, manpower training, execution of multiple road projects, and the relocation of the agency’s headquarters from its old office to a new one,’ he said……….”
He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for the achievements recorded over the past seven years and urged residents of the state, particularly those in rural areas, to continue supporting the governor to enable him to sustain the ongoing work initiating and he is execitong them.
The Director General of the Bureau for Riral Develolment remarks that, Governor Abdullahi Sule administration marks seven years in office, with rural development listed among its key policy priorities.
Engineer Mohammad Sani Sidi said, the bureau for rural development is working in synergy with local government authorities and development partners to deliver projects aimed at improving access to basic amenities, boosting agricultural productivity, and creating economic opportunities for rural dwellers.
