THE BAN ON THE USE OF KNOCKOUTS, PILI CARDS, AND ALL FORMS OF FIREWORKS DURING THE CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR FESTIVE SEASON IS STILL ENFORCED.
The Jigawa State Police Command, under the strategic leadership of CP Dahiru Muhammad, psc, fdc, extends its heartfelt goodwill and season’s greetings to the peace-loving people of the state as they commemorate the Christmas and New Year festivities.
In line with its statutory mandate to protect lives and property, and as part of proactive measures to preserve public order and safety, the Command hereby announces a total prohibition on the sale, possession, use, and detonation of knockouts, pili cards, and all other forms of fireworks throughout the Christmas and New Year celebrations across the state.
This decisive action has become necessary due to the security and safety risks posed by fireworks, which often trigger public panic, cause injuries, damage property, and may be exploited by criminal elements to conceal or
facilitate unlawful acts.
The ban is also intended to protect vulnerable groups, particularly children, the elderly, and individuals with health issues who may be adversely affected by loud explosive sounds.
To ensure strict compliance, the Command has deployed adequate personnel and operational assets to strategic locations across the state to clamp down on the perpetrators.
The command calls on the parents and guardians to strongly warn their wards to adhere strictly to this directive. Anyone found contravening this order will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with extant laws.
The Jigawa State Police Command urges members of the public to cooperate fully with security agencies by promptly reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest security outfits.
The command reassures the good people of the state of its unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order before, during, and after the festive period.
