JIGAWA: Palliative shop open in Kirikasamma …

The Jigawa State Government has commissioned the Danmodi Palliative Shop in Kirikasamma Local Government Area to enable state and local government staff to purchase essential commodities at affordable prices.

The Coordinator of ALGON for the Danmodi Palliative Shop, Musbahu Isah Turaki, explained that the initiative aims to alleviate the hardship faced by workers in accessing affordable goods and services, which often require traveling long distances.

He stated that, the shop offers items such as bags of rice, garri, spaghetti, and other essentials at lower price than the current market rates.

Musbahu added that, registered state and local government staff can also obtain the items on a loan basis, with repayments deducted directly from their salaries.

The Head of the Department of Community and Social Development, Nura Muhammad Usman Garki, urged eligible staff to enroll and register to benefit from the initiative, describing it as part of the dividends of democracy under Governor Umar Namadi’s administration.

Earlier, the Kirikasamma Council Chairman, Muhammad Maji Wakili Marma, represented by Councillor representing Gayin Ward , Bura Ibrahim Gayin, commended Governor Namadi for the initiative which directly benefits workers in the state and local government level.
