Jigawa State High Court No4 sitting in Dutse under Presiding Judge Hon. Justice Ahmed Mohammed Abubakar delivered a judgement in a case involving two convicts, HAMIM AUWALU and ASHIRU SALISU of Sabalari Village under Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State whom were found guilty for the offence bordering Conspiracy, deceitful abduction for ransom and Culpable Homicide.

State Judiciary, the convicts were accused of causing the death of TAHIR ADAMU HASSAN on 04 April, 2024 at Sabalari Village. The Prosecution presented four (4) witnesses, who testified against the convicts. The defense, on the other hand, presented two (2) witnesses as well.
After careful consideration of the evidence presented, the trial judge Hon. Justice A. M. Abubakar found the convicts guilty for the offence of Conspiracy & abduction punishable under Section 96 & 97 of the Penal Code Law Cap. P3 Laws of Jigawa State, 2012 and Culpable Homicide Punishable under Section 221(b) of the Penal Code Law .
Wangara added that, the court held that the prosecution had proved it’s case beyond reasonable doubt, establishing that the convicts had intentionally caused the death of the victim.Thereby the Court held that, for the offence of Conspiracy the convicts will serve one year each imprisonment and for the abduction & Homicide they’II face death by hanging.
The court also found that the convicts had shown remorse for their actions but unfortunately the law must put it in a right place.
This judgment serves as a reminder that the justice system will not tolerate violent crimes and will hold perpetrators accountable for their actions. The court’s decision is a testament to the commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice for victims and their families.
