Kaburma Town in Tumfafi Ward Faces Severe Shortage of Clean Drinking Water

This pressing issue was brought to the attention of the Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Anas Mukhtar Bello Danmaliki, by a resident of Kaburma, Mallam Alassan Alassan, who reported that the town’s wells dry up within three months after the rainy season, leaving residents without a steady water supply.
According to Mallam Alassan, residents often have to wait for over six hours, with more than 40 people in line, just to fetch a bucket of water. In many homes, there is no water available for cooking or basic hygiene due to the ongoing crisis.
He appealed to the local government to consider extending piped water from the nearby town of Gangaren Dutse to Kaburma, citing the proximity of both towns and the availability of tap water in Gangaren Dutse.
In response, the Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Anas Mukhtar Bello Danmaliki, expressed deep sympathy with the affected residents and assured them that the local government will take urgent steps to address the crisis, emphasizing that water is a basic necessity of life.
He also highlighted ongoing development efforts, noting that the road construction from Kaburma to Daura village is progressing steadily and will be completed soon.
In another development, the Chairman was presented with adult education teaching and learning materials provided by the Kano State Government. These materials are intended to educate members of the Vigilante Security Group in the area and reduce illiteracy among community security volunteers. The materials include writing boards, textbooks, exercise books, pens, and other educational tools.
The Chairman commended the state government for its Foresight and commitment to eradicating illiteracy and empowering grassroots communities.
