State Judiciary, Jigawa State Governor Inaugurates Two-Day Training Workshop for Newly Appointed Shari’a Court Judges the Jigawa state Executive Governor, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, FCA, today declared open a two-day training workshop for 19 newly appointed Shari’a Court Judges. The workshop, organized by the Jigawa State Judicial Service Commission, is designed to enhance the capacity of the newly appointed judges in the effective dispensation of justice in accordance with Islamic legal principles.
Wangara further said; the event, held at Manpower Development Institute (MDI) Dutse, was attended by key stakeholders in the state’s judiciary, including the Grand Kadi, *Hon. Kadi Sani Salihu,* who represented the Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Umar M. Sadiq. Also present were the State Hon. High Court Judges, Hon. Khadis, Attorney General/Commissioner of Justice, judicial staff, and members of the public.
According to him the State Grand Kadi, Hon. Kadi Sani Salihu, delivered a welcome address on behalf of the Chief Judge, emphasizing the importance of continuous judicial training in upholding the rule of law and ensuring fair and speedy justice delivery. He commended the state government for its unwavering support to the judiciary and urged the newly appointed judges to uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
His Excellency, the Executive Governor Mallam Umar Namadi, fca in his keynote address, reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening the judicial system in Jigawa State. He highlighted the critical role of Shari’a courts in resolving disputes and maintaining social harmony, particularly in a predominantly Muslim society The appointment and training of these judges underscore our dedication to ensuring a robust and efficient judicial system that aligns with both Islamic principles and modern legal standards,
Governor therefore added that. We are confident that this workshop will equip the new judges with the necessary skills and knowledge to serve justice with fairness, impartiality, and compassion.
The Governor further assured the judiciary of his administration’s continued support in providing the necessary resources for the smooth operation of courts across the state. He urged the new judges to remain steadfast in their duties, avoid corruption, and always prioritize the welfare of the people.
The two-day training workshop will feature presentations and interactive sessions by seasoned judicial experts, covering topics such as Shari’a court procedures, ethical conduct, case management, and contemporary legal issues.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission Barristed Auwal Dan’azumi who expressed gratitude to the Governor for his proactive leadership and support for judicial reforms in the state.
