In preparation for the forthcoming Eid-El-Fitr Sallah Celebration, the Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, CP AT Abdullahi, psc, convened a high-level security conference at CP AT Abdullahi Conference Hall with members of the Management Team, Commanding Officer 35 PMF Dutse, seven (7) Area Commanders, thirty-Seven (37) Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Heads of Departments (HODs), and other Senior Officers of the Command.
The meeting which was held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, focused on deploying a robust and pragmatic security strategy to ensure a peaceful and incident-free celebration across the state. The following key deliberations were made:
1). Proactive Security Measures: Officers were tasked with implementing preventive strategies to mitigate any security breaches similar to those recorded in previous years.
2). Operational Preparedness: All DPOs were directed to draft and submit their Operational Orders to the Commissioner for review and approval.
3). Security of Vulnerable Areas: Potentially high-risk locations were identified, and concrete security measures were mapped out to ensure effective policing.
4). Community Engagement & Public Awareness: The need for public sensitization on security threats and the consequences of criminal activities was emphasized.
5). Strict Supervision During Festivities: The CP directed all DPOs and Area Commanders to remain within their respective Divisions during the Sallah period to ensure effective security supervision and coordination.
6). Tackling Mob Actions & Homicide Cases: Officers were sensitized on the need to curb mob violence and adopt proactive strategies to address homicide-related incidents.
