Hon. Nasiru Zakarai Distributes Farm Inputs to Boost Food Security in Ningi
In a bid to enhance agricultural productivity and ensure food security in Ningi, the Chairman of Ningi Local Government Area, Hon. Nasiru Zakarai, has distributed essential farm implements to members of the Ningi Dry Season Farmers Association.
Speaking during the distribution exercise at the Ningi Local Government Secretariat, Hon. Nasiru Zakarai emphasized that the initiative aligns with the vision of Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad (Turakin Ningi), to promote food sufficiency in the state.
As part of the distribution, the chairman provided farmers with thirty bags of fertilizer, ten knapsack sprayers, ten bags of rice seedlings, ten bags of maize seedlings, and 30 bottles of pesticides.
He urged the beneficiaries to utilize the inputs effectively to achieve a bountiful harvest.
Hon. Zakarai also explained previous efforts by the local government to support farmers, recalling that during the rainy season, over 1,000 bags of fertilizer and other agricultural inputs were distributed to farmers in the area.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Ningi Dry Season Farmers Association, Malam Yahaya Musa Tamabaya, expressed gratitude for the support and assured that the inputs would be distributed fairly among members of the association.
In a related development, Hon. Nasiru Zakarai has donated N300,000 to an orphanage organization in Ningi Local Government.
The donation was announced on Sunday during the annual distribution of relief materials to orphans and vulnerable individuals in the area.
The chairman reiterated his commitment to supporting the less privileged and ensuring that vulnerable groups receive necessary assistance.
